How to Share Your Baby Registry (So Nobody Double-Buys)

A walkthrough of MamaBestie's no-login registry sharing — the same core idea Babylist popularized, built directly into the app you're already tracking your pregnancy in.
If you’ve used Babylist before, MamaBestie’s registry sharing will feel familiar — that’s intentional. The core idea (one link, no login required, gifts marked claimed in real time) is the single most useful thing a registry can do, so we built it in directly rather than making you juggle a separate registry app.
Setting up your share link
Open the Registry tab and add your items — as much or as little detail as you want (name, category, priority, price range, a link to buy it). MamaBestie generates a share link automatically; you don’t have to do anything else to turn it on.
Sending it to family
Send the link the same way you’d send any other link — text, email, a family group chat. Whoever opens it sees your registry as a clean web page, with must-haves flagged so grandparents and far-away relatives know where to start.
What happens when someone claims a gift
When a guest taps “I’m getting this!” on an item, it’s marked claimed immediately — for every other visitor, including you. If someone changes their mind, they can undo it from the same page.
Why this beats a printed list or a spreadsheet
A static list goes stale the moment two people read it at different times. A live, shared page doesn’t — which is the whole reason this pattern (pioneered by registries like Babylist) took over from the old department-store scanner gun. MamaBestie brings the same mechanic to a registry that lives right next to your pregnancy tracking, birth plan, and gear research — no second app required.

Questions you might have

Does my family need the MamaBestie app to view or claim gifts from my registry?

No. Your registry share link opens as a normal web page — anyone can view it, mark an item as claimed, or undo a claim, without creating an account or installing anything.

Can two people accidentally claim the same gift?

The share page shows claim status live, so once someone marks an item claimed, the next visitor sees it's taken. It isn't a hard lock (there's no purchase verification), but it removes the guesswork that causes most duplicate gifts.

Will I see who claimed each item?

No — claim status is visible to guests so nobody double-buys, but who claimed what is deliberately left out of the public page, so it can still be a surprise for you too.
